Sex sells.  Need proof?  I place into evidence Exhibit A: the motorcycle, sometimes referred to as Butt Jewelry.  C'mon, if we were really about gas mileage, carbon footprint, and easier commuting,  we'd all ride Chinese scooters.

You think it's coincidence that a sport bike tail section has an abstract resemblance to a female tail section?  And a section wearing 6" heels, at that.  Or how the venerable Harley-Davidson looks so large and muscular?  Right down to the ripped cooling fins.  Yes Virginia, bikes look hot.

Of course, true beauty is different for each beholder.  But since I have control of the keyboard, I get to behold first.  Your turn is next.

So, in no particular order, these are my nominations for the sexiest bikes seen on the streets of Seattle.

Ducati 1098.  Sure, the photos are drool-worthy, but this is a ride you have to see in person to appreciate.  It looks scary fast, on its side stand.  I was afraid to even sit on it.  Really.

Victory Vegas 8-Ball
Victory Vegas 8-Ball

It is sleek, smooth,  willowy.  All lithe angles.  Athletic, but without steroids. Trust me, there is no hair on this upper lip.

Do I sound enfatuated?  I hope my wife doesn't read this.

Where to find one:  Ducati Seattle.  If they have the "R" model in stock be sure to bring a bib.

Victory Vegas 8-Ball.  I can already sense the wrath of the Harley dudes.  But the 8-Ball weaves the classic retro cues (pardon the pun) with some actual design.  Check the gorgeous lines of the tank, the integration of the seat, the simplicity of the pipes.  It presents an understatement that belies the word "Vegas."  And like Henry's model T, it comes in any color so long as it's black.

Triumph Speed Triple

Where to find one:  Hinshaws Motorcycle Store, Auburn. Call first to make sure they have one on the floor.

Triumph Speed Triple.  The Triple is a purposeful sexy.  Like an Olympics  gymnast it's compact, muscled, and powerful.  It's got a dorky side, too (headlights) and it's a bike you need to see in person to fully appreciate.

Where to find one:  Lynnwood Cycle Barn

Harley-Davidson FXCWC Rocker C.  That's a mouthful, but if you have a soft spot for choppers -- and believe that a sexy motorcycle must be a good ride, too -- this has to make the list.  Great lines, gorgeous engine, classic chopper rake.  Very cool wheels, too.  All in a package you can ride cross-state.  Nobody does a better job of making new technology look old than The Motor Company.

Where to find one:  Eastside Harley-Davidson

OK, it's your turn now.  Which sportbikes and cruisers make you do a double-take?
