Ask Uncle SpinoutIs it better to be “fast” or “furious”?

Kelly

Is this a choice that you're considering, Kelly? Maybe some issues, anger management problems? No?

In that case, good question.  Race car drivers are often thought to be maniacs behind the wheel, but the best are, to use a trite phrase, cool, calm and collected.

Furious, on the other hand, implies anger, and anger leads to what racers call the “red mist,” and that results in over reaching and a decrease in control. And that’s not good.

To be truly fast, one needs to be in control. And control is good.

Ergo, fast is better.

And around here, too, we prefer fast women to furious women. Yup, fast is definitely better.
