In order liven up Luke's birthday spirit, Phil and Claire decide to throw him the best birthday bash ever. Manny is especially keen on going to the party in order to romance the girl of his dreams. In order to help him land the girl, Jay teaches him a few jokes. Meanwhile, Mitchell and Cameron argue about the possible appearance of Kizbo, Cameron's clown alter ego.
When Mitchell and Cameron stop to get gas, a rude man starts to bully Mitchell when Cameron steps in--complete with the clown costume--and asks for an apology.
At Luke's party, Manny attempts to tell the jokes only to fail miserably. Claire's crafts table is overshadowed by the climbing wall, reptile lady and crossbow. When Haley sees a flirtation between the reptile lady and her boyfriend, she releases a scorpion to distract the pair.
Mitchell and Cameron arrive at the party only to scare Phil with his clown costume. Things start to go wrong when the scorpion scares the crowd and a chain reaction occurs in which an arrow is shot into the playhouse. Manny courageously rescues his crush. As a result of spilled beads, Luke slips and fractures his arm.
The entire family takes Luke to the hospital and finishes the celebration there.
