Animal advocates make waves for Paris Hilton & Miss Piglette

Paris Hilton has worked as a model, actress, singer, and engaged in occasional business pursuits.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is an animal rights organization based in Norfolk, Virginia.

Reportedly PETA objects to Paris Hilton adopting a teacup pot-bellied pig named Piglette.

As far as it is known, there has been no "official" reason for their claim, but they object just the same according to Indo-Asian News Service on October 15, 2009.

PETA has two million members and supporters worldwide, it claims the status of the largest animal rights group in the world. Ingrid Newkirk is its international president.

Its slogan is:

Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment."

Miss Piglette was born in Oregon and Paris Hilton adopted her from a breeder there.  It has been said that the breeder will personally deliver the pig to Hilton.

Hilton's new pet is not yet weened, but when she is, time will tell what happens concerning this "controversy" of her living with Hilton.
