Bebo.com operates with same basics as myspace.com. If you are 13 or older you can register very easily and find new friends or keep in touch with your old friends with bebo.

Bebo, Inc. is based in San Francisco, California but they are actually more popular in England and Ireland, according to the press release linked to their site bebo is Ireland's most popular website.

They advertise as the UK's leading social networking site with over 9 million users in UK. They reached 1 million Irish users in January 2007.

Bebo.com is designed for younger college and school age audience and very simple and well designed in my mind. To change the skin (the background) in your profile was super easy and the options were endless, I picked a horse of course!

There is great Bibo Band section where you can listen to music from all genres and discover some new hot bands. I love the playlist section, I can just click on someone's selected list and listen to it on the back. As I'm writing this Justin Timberlake list is rockin' my world from someone's playlist!

Other great section is Bebo TV, you can watch different clips, or clearly under their own sections with easy access. I just watched something from European Film Festival!

The Authors section let's you read or create anything you want to, I read some nice poetry this morning.

As with all social networking, safety is an issue and everyone should read the "safety tips" link which tells you about the group called wiredSafety.org, group of volunteers from 76 countries helping to keep the internet safer. But as the page says in the end everyone should be careful about who they will meet in real life!

Overall, bebo.com appears easier to navigate than myspace.com and even though I'm not really looking for new friends I will revisit to listen some music and read and watch the clips!
