Are you looking for a great black friday or cyber monday laptop deal ?The Acer Aspire 1410 looks more like a beautiful piece of Art-Deco work, rather than the computing powerhouse that it is.

We recently tested this(Aspire 1410-2936) pint sized high tech juggernaut, and were immediately impressed with its power that was contained in a medium no bigger than a typical book; and lighter too.

The model tested, as stated above was the Aspire 1410-2936, and comes standard with features that will would in theory make it higher in price than the $399.00 price tag.

The price is something that is going to attract you to look at this. It is the perfect price point for the student or recent grad, as well as the general household looking to add to its technology. Also, later in the article, you will see why I am also calling this a great price point for a retiree as well.

The Model that was tested, included the following impressive specs;

 Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium ; 64-bit version; Intel® Celeron® Processor SU2300 (1MB L2 Cache, 1.20GHz, 800MHz FSB); 2GB (1/1) DDR2 667 SDRAM; 160GB hard drive; 5-in-1 card reader; Acer® CineCrystal 11.6" (1366 x 768) TFT display; Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD; 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N WLAN, gigabit LAN, webcam; ruby red chassis; one-year limited warranty

As you can see, unlike many other smaller notebooks and netbook, this has a full blown Intel Processor and the Full Windows 7 premium instead of a smaller less powerful processor and the stripped down Windows 7 starter.

Even if you chose to purchase nothing extra after buying this, you would have all that you need to run your high tech life. It includes several pieces of software, including Microsoft Works (word processor, spread sheet,  database, calender, and portfolio which is a great way to organize your projects in one area.

It also comes with a 60 day trial of MS Office 2007 which needs no introductions. For security, it comes with a 60 day trial of each; Mcafee Security Center and Norton Backup. It also comes preinstalled with the entire Windows Live Lineup including, Live Writer, Live Mail and more.

It does not have an optical drive installed (there is an external option). However, should you want to install other software, you have a couple of options will easily and speedily take the place of it. It has an included 10-Base-T jack for a direct line to the internet, or better yet utilize the blazingly fast wireless connection to access and download the titles you want and need. Also, with the wireless connection you can even access the CD drive on a shared computer and install directly from there. With wireless in mind, you will enjoy this list of nation wide freeWiFi locations.

So who will get use out of the Aspire 1410 ? The answer is YES ! In other words, anyone that needs or wants a computer can use this. It is simple enough to let the novice user do what he/she needs to do, but powerful enough and expandable enough to give the seasoned user the features needed to even replace the full size laptop or desktop. Also, with its size, this is an incredible device for the seasoned traveler and road warrior alike. For that purpose, as general computing, users will appreciate the battery power. It only advertises upto 6 hr battery time, but at time of writing as tested, a quick mouse hover over the battery meter in the task bar showed 99% at 7hr and 41mins left after being unplugged for 15 minutes. We can all appreciate extra time, cant we ?

Thus far in testing, no incompatibilities with hardware or industry standard software have been found. Items tested included flash drives, media players, etc. All proved plug and play reliability.

Earlier in the article, it was mentioned that retirees can take advantage of what the Aspire 1410 has to offer. First is the 11.6" display. The clarity is flawless and crystal clear, hence its name "Cinecrystal". Also this offers a full size QWERTY keyboard with large print, so it easy to see and read. Even the function keys appear to be larger than a true "laptop".

This Notebook (notebook only describes its size) is going to take the industry by storm as it combines the brains and the brawn to top the mainstream computing lists. It has the power to replace most standard size portable computers and even some desktops, and the size that makes it so easy to travel with and carry around. This Notebook by Acer, is really offering the best of both worlds in computing.
