Mumbai's Taj Mahal Palace and Tower is scheduled to reopen its doors on Dec. 21, 2008 at 7 PM. The iconic hotel became front page news after a series of horrendous attacks on this Indian city. With the reopening of the rooms in The Taj Mahal Tower, It will again welcome guests from around the world.
Raymond Bickson, Managing Director and CEO of Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces said, "We dedicate our reopening to the city of Mumbai as an affirmation of the values of courage, resilience and dignity." He acknowledged the speed and attention to detail in reopening the hotel. "It shows our resolve to commemorate all the innocent and brave people who lost their lives during the recent attacks, said Bickson. "The Taj will shine again in all its brilliance."
Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces is one of Asia's largest groups of hotels, which includes 61 properties in 42 locales across India with an additional 16 international hotels in the Maldives, Mauritius, Malaysia, Australia, UK, USA, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the Middle East. The Taj recently completed the 100th anniversary of its landmark hotel, The Taj Mahal Palace and Tower in Mumbai.
