Mega Man II for the iPhone OS

Capcom Interactive, Inc. has brought their first classic video game to the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Mega Man II, originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System two decades ago, has been ported to the iPhone OS. The game has also, in recent years, been ported to the Sony Playstation, Sony Playstation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and Microsoft Xbox as part of Mega Man Anniversary Collection, other mobile phones in 2007, and the Wii's Virtual Console. Mega Man 9 was recently released on the Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and Wii Virtual Console.

The application's description states


Take control of the blue bomber in his most celebrated adventure. Battle through the full game, all 14 levels, and defeat Dr. Wily and his eight robot masters is (SIC) this classic Capcom (R) action platformer.
  • Utilize virtual arcade controls to control the blue bomber.
  • Rebalanced gameplay for the iPhone experience.
  • Battle your way through 14 levels, and conquer 9 unique bosses, each with a unique weapon!
  • Bringing the original classic NES game to the palm of your hand.


The only other games Capcom has released for the iPhone are the quiz games Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?.

Mega Man II is available now for $4.99.
