He thinks he'd blow our minds.  He's probably right.

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

Taken from "Starman," one of David Bowie's masterpieces of composition and orchestration (credit to Mick Ronson for the strings).  Rumors have been swirling for months that Bowie would come and meet us at the DNC.  As the Denver Post reported, he's now being mentioned as a potential boost to the musical lineup scheduled for Tent State University's City Park activities.

City Park promises to be a hub of protest and loud guitars.  With Wayne Kramer of Detroit's fabled MC5, and Jello Biafra on hand, the sound may just reach the Pepsi Center.  Regardless of what the animals at the Denver Zoo think, music festivals in Colorado are sprouting up like sunflowers in the August heat.  But the Tent State Music Festival promises to be something special.  Even the logo for the fest harkens back to another landmark gathering of like-minded young folks.

The mayor has already expressed concern regarding accomodations at City Park, as in don't think of City Park as accomodations for the DNC.  I say let the children boogie.
