CHFA down payment and closing cost assistance still available.
Uncle Sam wants to help you buy a home!
Down payment and closing cost assistance is still available from the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority.
Help is available for both previous home owners and first time home buyers with the CHFA HomeOpener and CHFA HomeOpener Plus programs.
The requirements for qualifying for these programs are:
- minimum credit score of 580
- customers must complete a homebuyer education course
- minimum of $1,000 towards purchase of home
- maximum debt-to-income ratio of 45 percent on manually underwritten loans.
The HomeOpener and HomeOpener Plus loans are offered with 30-year fixed interest rates.
CHFA offers free home buyer education classes in person and online. These classes are a great way to learn how to create a budget for saving for a home.
