Yet another week has come and gone. Just under three weeks remain until the speculation ends and the second guessing begins when it comes to the draft. As I have done the last few Saturdays, tonight I will be answering your comments and questions. Thank you guys again for taking the time to read and comment. They aren't all agreed with, but they are all read and appreciated.
Saturday Hot Seat 3/29

Sticking with full backs, I'm still wondering why they cut Justin Griffith? They always praised him and besides last years injury he's always stay realativly healthy.
It likely has a lot to do with Griffith being a Gregg Knapp guy. Griffith was with Knapp in Atlanta and has since rejoined him in Seattle. Griffith was a very good receiver out of the backfield, but O'Neal is a much better blocking fullback. It is very unusual for a team to carry two fullbacks, so if O'Neal comes all the way back, he will likley be the only 'true' fullback.

Joe asked what I know about Vito "Babe" Parilli as an Oakland Raider?
Off the top of my head, I didn't know anything, but according to Profootballrefrence.com he played with the Raiders in the inagural season of 1960, after having originally been drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1952 out of the University of Kentucky. In Oakland he was 87-187 with 5 tds and 11 interceptions. He went on to finish his career with the Boston/New England Patriots.

What about Fili Moala in the second? He could easily add 15 more pounds. Could be a run stuffer like his cousin Holati Ngata.
I don't know anything about him, but if he is anything like Nagta, he would be exactly the type of pick up the Raiders need.

Of all those scenarios I liked the first one. Although, I do have a question. How do you know Oakland will draft Chip Vaughn?? Just because the Raiders paid him a visit doesnt mean they'll draft him.
I don't know for sure that the Raiders will get him. He may or may not be on the board. He would likley be the best fit, but Al Davis may have other ideas. I would not be upset with Vaughn or Patrick Chung.
First off, to all I offended by including Leon Bender on the list, I apologize.
I received numerous suggestions as to players who should have been on here. I did not include Michael Huff because he is still on the team, and there is a chance he could turn it around. I did not include Robert Gallery becuase he has emerged as one of the top guards in the league, perhaps number 2 is too high to take a guard, but he is a productive part of the team. Any list like this is subjective. I spaced it on Bob Buckowzki, and would gladly switch him for Bender on the list.
"RIP Dan Birdwell" mentioned Charlie Philliaw, and I have to say that he was before my time, and didn't think of him at all.

Michael Bush, First pick of the second, he definitely is steal, especially how he is a beast at tht position, and how he dismantled the Bucs
Bush appears to be a steal, and if he continues to play at a high level, he will defintely make a future iteration of the list. One season, with one strong game and one great game is not enough of a sample set, in my opinion.

Uhh HELLO??? The Raiders stole or fleeced my Houston Texans when Houston gave up a 2nd and 3rd round pick to the Raiders for Philip Buchanan the CB/Matador tackler.
Oh yeah, that was the same year the Raiders traded for Moss. The Raiders used the second from that trade and Doug Jolley as I recall to move back into the first and draft Fabian Washington.
Ramstien Dave says:
Hey, I also wanted to mention La'Roi Glover. Granted, he barely played a full season for us. But he still has over 80 sacks to his career. I would take that from a fifth round pick anyday!
I included him on the mistakes list becuase they let him go and have that success elsewhere. As I said in that piece, had the Raiders kept him, he would be on the steals list.
Raiders need success on draft day 4/4

I think we need to trade down and fix a few problems. Trading Fargas while he has some value would be a good idea. He is a good back, but has never been able to stay healthy
(college or pro).
Justin Fargas has much more value to the Raiders as a locker room leader than he would garner on the open market. Besides, his recent restructure would make the cap hit of trading him quite high.
