If you're interested in Mars, make sure you tune in to today's podcast on 365 Days of Astronomy. I'm proud to sponsor Five Years of Living Vicariously on Mars, an up-close and personal look at the Mars Rover twins Spirit and Opportunity.

Jim Bell, the Cornell University  lead scientist for the Mars Exploration Rover "Pancam" color imaging investigation, presents today's program. Here's a quick summary:

The Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity have been actively exploring the Red Planet for five years now.  On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Opportunity's landing on Mars, planetary scientist and rover camera team leader Jim Bell talks about the major scientific findings by the Opportunity team, as well as the legacy that the rovers are establishing for the future of Mars exploration.

The daily podcasts are a part of the International Year of Astronomy 2009.
