Since the turn of the new year, something pretty bold has been going on between the hours of 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. in Uptown at the lovely and luxurious LIFT Lounge.

Prominent events promotions trio – LD Unlimited (CEO Dessie Brown, Jr.), E3000 Group (CEO George Artis II) and Will U Be There ENT (CEOs Chris Stribling and D.A. Haltom) – have banded together to form "The Socialite." The weekly themed--and often notably sponsored--event is based on a premise of best dressed and who's who, relative of course, to the guys holding the entrance door access key. Your best bet is to RSVP and get on the organizers' VIP lists, but sadly even that is no guarantee since the venue reaches capacity at around 250-300 guests.

Insider's tip: Even if you're on the list, get there early.

Touted for being an intimate gathering of beautiful people, including guest appearances from noteworthy celebrities, notorious party-goers and a stream of Dallas Cowboys, the Thursday night recurrence is becoming a favorite among some of Dallas' frequent nightlife dwellers.

According to Dallas native and undisputed glamazon Crystal Z. Perry, The Socialite events are above standards when it comes to attendance and ambiance.

I've been to LIFT as well as CocoLuxe at The Boardroom and some other events they've hosted. I'm always happy with the type of crowd...

I caught up with Dessie Brown at ten sports grill for cocktails and conversation. A well-dressed, mild-mannered and very likeable Brown gave me the inside track on what he and the fellas plan to roll out in upcoming weeks, and most immediately, their Memorial Day Weekend lineup. The kickoff was Thursday night's The Socialite: Two-Headed Monster Part II, sponsored by Ciroc.

Several guests of the May 21st event posted photos on their Facebook pages. The general concensus showed: a diversified crowd of familiar faces, a loyal fanbase, fashionably adventurous attendees (both fad-makers and faux pas mistakers) and that [good] drinks were flowing plentifully. In generous fashion, notoriously social Dallas Cowboy TE, Martellus Bennett  #80,  floated 80 [trademark] gratis shots of Patron to those in attendance.

Does The Socialite have the staying power to dominate Dallas' social circuit?

It's awesome! They put a stylish, classy event together by staying different and ahead of the curve. They didn't back down when things weren't going as well as they'd hoped. Instead, they stuck with it and continued to perfect upon it. Now it's the bomb!--Martellus Bennett

The Socialite recently gave birth to several spin-off events, The Cocoluxe @ The Boardroom and TrendSet @ Victory Tavern – both recurring one Saturday of each month. The events, whose criteria mirrors tweak-up variations on the original premise, are exploited under the moniker, The Socialite Presents...

Everyone knows that historically, Dallas' urban nightlife hot spots are fly-by-nighters. And although many have reached famed notoriety by epic proportions, few have maintained longevity, intentionally or circumstantially speaking. As summer approaches and radio ads tease airwaves with the promise of several Thursday night event host veterans laying claim to the original Thursday nightlife throne, let the games begin.

The Socialite doesn't seem to be flinching at its competitors. In fact, it welcomes a challenge. With a business model that incorporates rotating celebrity guest hosts, highly-sought spin doctors including Ro Parrish, Jay Clipp and Steve Nice coupled with poignantly relevant themes, it plans to stick around for the long haul.

While it's no secret that the originality of "selection based on sexiness and social status i.e. exclusivity" is credited primarily to Rande Gerber, creator of the famed West Hollywood-based Skybar, it doesn't take away from others who have successfully applied the principle.

Point taken.
