Though it is undoubtedly true that most fans of the Twilight series (books and films) would like to see The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse mark the second and third of a four-part series, the fact remains: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is still not an official project for Summit Entertainment, yet.
[*Warning* this article contains spoilers about Eclipse and Breaking Dawn]
One reader of this column raised an interesting question about the nature of the series' conclusion absent Breaking Dawn. The suggestion made was that a very serene and important part of Breaking Dawn should become the ending to Eclipse - the wedding.
Though at the end of New Moon we have a sort of proposal, it is not until Eclipse that Bella and Edward make official their decision to marry one another (with a ring, kneeling, a speech, etc.).
In Breaking Dawn, that promise is brought to fruition, and the colorful imagery and personification that Stephenie Meyer is so well known for is on full display in the descriptions contained in the wedding sequences.
That said, for some Twilight fans it is crucial that this scene come to life on the big screen. While putting the birth and existence of Renesmee to cinematic life might be difficult, the wedding sequences will be much less so.
So, assuming that Breaking Dawn weren't going to be made into a film with our favorite castmembers, would you rather Eclipse ended with the wedding? At another point? Or is it so necessary for Breaking Dawn be made into a film that no other option will satisfy you? Comment below and let us know!
