The Twilight Saga: New Moon has now earned over half a billion dollars in the global film marketplace, according to a recent report.
That's not to say it's number one for the passing weekend, of course. That honor belongs to the celebrated Sandra Bullock picture The Blind Side. See here for more on that.
Nevertheless, it's still a huge feat to hit the $500 million mark within a month's time by anyone's standards.
According to Box Office Mojo, The Twilight Saga: New Moon sits at number six on 2009's yearly domestic box office intake results.
This weekend's international showing was also noteworthy. According to The Hollywood Reporter:
"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" nailed down the foreign circuit's No. 1 position for a third straight weekend with estimated boxoffice of $40.7 million from 9,167 screens in 62 markets, raising the Summit International release's total offshore tally to $314.5 million.
