It's when summer is long gone and the days start becoming shorter than ones thoughts turn to the south -- Costa Rica that is, home of Waterski Costa Rica.

All winter long, this premiere camp basks in warm tropical weather, where the water temperature hangs in the 80s and the air temperature ranges in the 80s and low 90s.

As you might imagine, they're taking reservations now for the waterski estate, a 9000-square foot Villa Buena Vida in Muelle.

While the dedicated can work on their shortline skills, Costa Rica is also a great place to enjoy such adventures as riding a zip line over the rain forest, touring the jungle via riverboat, hiking and swimming in waterfalls of taking in Arenal lava flows.

And hey, how thoughtful of Jim Kilsdonk to provide a few airfare heads up: Fares on Spirit air are for dates Nov. 7-14 and Nov. 14-21:

  • $99 each way from Detroit (Nov. 7 - 14 only)
  • $84 each way from Ft. Lauderdale
  • $134 each way from LAX
  • $207 round trip from LaGuardia

There's also Delta, he suggests, $298 round trip from Atlanta, $186 from Detroit and $186, Chicago.
