For the past week or so, a crew has been building a mock-up of the border between North and South Korea for the film Salt, starring Angelina Jolie and Liev Shreiber.
The film, which is slated for a 2010 release, depicts Angelina Jolie as a CIA officer who is accused of being a Russian spy.
The production has been filming on location all over New York City for the past couple of months, and today is scheduled to film at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, on a taxi-way that has been outfitted with barricades, fences, and Korean signage. Angelina Jolie is reportedly in the scenes being shot today.
Floyd Bennett Field, no longer an active airport, is located at the south-east corner of Brooklyn. It was New York City's first municipal airport. On the water and far from the bright lights of the rest of New York, Floyd Bennett Field offers an ideal location for shooting large-scale movie and TV scenes.
