Despite fire damage to their theater earlier today, Taproot's show will go on! Seattle Children's Theatre has offered Taproot a weekend refuge to complete their run of Enchanted April.

The Friday evening performance of Enchanted April has been canceled as the company moves costumes and sets to the SCT's Seattle Center location.  Performances will be offered Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Friday tickets will be honored then.

Enchanted April was scheduled to close this weekend with several sold-out shows.

A Tweet for Help

A Twitter campaign sprang up today  to help the company make the transition, with ACT Theatre downtown acting as a communications coordinator to aid their friends. Local theater groups and patrons started posting "@TaprootTheatre NEEDS HELP this weekend to move their play to a new spot! DM @acttheatre to help. Plz RT!" by noon on Friday.

Taproot's tweets also kept patrons updated throughout the day as the company employees were allowed back into their building at 85th following the fire that destroyed several nearby businesses. One message from the company read: "Costume shop manager Sarah Burch Gordon drying costumes in the hallway of the admin office."
