Las Vegas, Nevada - 4/21/2009
A mysterious boomerang-shaped UFO (pictured at right) was photographed by a witness who claims to be a licensed pilot, while vacationing at the Treasure Island Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada this past Tuesday. The witness and his wife had joined a crowd of people gathering for an outdoor show, when he noticed between 20-30 people gazing and pointing up at the sky. A triangular formation of lights (described by the witness as an open V-shape) perhaps three times wider than it was tall was passing almost directly overhead. The leading point of the object was directed several degrees west of due north, on an approximate 340-345 degree heading. In the several seconds of observation, the witness concluded that the object was not a commercial airliner, or a formation of individual objects. It appeared to be a single object, filing at an altitude much greater than that of the departing aircraft from nearby McCarran Airport. The witness could hear sirens from nearby emergency vehicles, but could not determine what they may have been responding to.
Bright sphere reported from California....
Elk Grove, California - 4/23/2009
Witness reported a bright white, or yellow colored sphere from his apartment balcony. The witness claimed it was the brightest object he had ever seen in the sky. The sphere traveled northeast towards the apartment complex before stopping. The object then appeared to remain stationary and silent for approximately two minutes. The sphere then continued to move until passing completely out of view. The entire event lasted approximately eleven minutes. The witness continued to observe the sky in an attempt to see the object again, when he noticed a second object towards the west. This object appeared to be flat, with lights across the front. The witness continued to observe the second object when a sphere-like object appeared in very close proximity to the flat object. This object seemed to come from nowhere, and sat motionless for approximately 30 seconds before disappearing, similar to switching off a light switch. The spere then reappeared in the same location ten seconds later. The spere held position for approximately 20-30 more seconds before disappearing completely. The witness continued observation of the flat object for another couple of minutes, and noticed lights which appeared to be circling the object. The flat object began traveling west and out of view.
A message to my Pittsburgh readers.....
I recently received a comment from one of my readers asking what many of my UFO sighting reports from around the country have to do with Pittsburgh. While I am officially the "Pittsburgh UFO Examiner", based out of Pittsburgh, I believe that my readers enjoy hearing about what is being reported from all across the United States. Fact is, there hasn't been much UFO activity reported from the greater Pittsburgh-southwestern Pennsylvania region for the past several weeks. Rest assured, that I will cover a Pittsburgh event thoroughly whenever a report crosses my desk. In the meantime, please keep reading and providing any feedback that can help me to improve this column.
