It was a busy weekend for UFO sightings, with reports streaming in from all across the United States. The following reports were filed on November 8, 2009:
Erie, Pennsylvania - Two witnesses reported a strange mist, described as a stationary vortex, in their backyard. The strange mist extended approximately eight to ten feet from the ground to the top, although the vortex did not actually touch the ground. The object appeared to be floating until it completely vanished.
Rockingham, North Carolina - Witness was traveling north on I-485 when spotting about a half dozen lights in the early evening sky. The lights appeared to be motionless, and formed a triangular pattern. There was a bright white light on each corner, and two dimmer white lights on what appeared to be two leading edges of the object. There also was a dim red light in the middle of the object. The witness claims that the object moved very slowly -- perhaps 10-20 miles per hour. There were no blinking lights associated with the object. The object changed direction and drifted out of view. Several minutes later the witness described seeing several planes and helicopters traveling toward the direction of his sighting. What is peculiar about the crafts was that they were all black, and had minimal lighting.
Wisconsin - The witness noticed an unusual object moving from west to east, approaching the road he was driving on. The object was twice the size of a twin prop plane, and triangular in shape. The bright moon revealed the outline of the object. There were luminous lights on each rounded point, and all three lights pointed downward, with the forward light fading orange in color, while the two rear lights remained white. The witness estimated the object to be traveling approximately 80-100 miles per hour, at an altitude of 800 feet. The entire sighting lasted for approximately five minutes, until the object passed over some distant trees.
Westlake, Texas - Witness observed a strange light resembling a "shooting star", with a small tail, descending rapidly. Once the object began slowing its descent, it split into four separate lights, each with their own small tail on them. The individual lights then began making independent flight maneuvers. The first light appeared to be hovering, while the other lights descended in a spiraling motion. Additional lights appeared to "pop on" around the single stationary light. At one point during the sighting, the witness reported seeing six of these strange yellowish lights in the sky. Suddenly an extremely large military aircraft came into the area and appeared to bank around the strange lights.
Baltimore, Maryland - Witness described an unusual bright light approaching his position. At first the witness thought it was a plane, as there is a nearby airport, but as the object passed directly overhead it made no sound, and slowly dimmed out until it had vanished.
Grafton, West Virginia - Witness observed a bright shiny object. The object was a golden color, and was about twice the size of a commercial jetliner. The object made no sound as it passed over the witness' house.
Cumberland, Maryland - Witness described a metallic white object moving at a high rate of speed from north to south. The object didn't appear to have any wings and appeared to accelerate in speed. The object moved from horizon to horizon in less than twenty seconds.
San Joaquin, California - Looking toward the east, the witness noticed a white strobing sphere in the sky about 30 degrees above the horizon, and at a far distance. The witness felt the lights were strobing much too fast to be conventional aircraft lighting. The sphere flew at a high rate of speed from east to west. The object then began traveling north-northwest, but there was no steady turn witnessed. The object continued traveling until no longer in view.
