I'll have a piece about Art and Darrell going into the Hall later tonight/tomorow. However, the Cult of Colt Brennan caught my attention. Yes, this is a blogging alla puttanesca to draw traffic. H/T to National Review's Jonah Goldberg
However, I do have some first hand experience with Hawaii fans.
In 2006 I had the pleasure of going to Maui with the family for Thanksgiving. Believe me I was thankful to be in Maui in late November. While I did not get a chance to catch any of the Maui Invitational games, and I committed the sand poundingly stupid error of turning down a chance to play Kaanapali Golf Course; I did get an earful of Hawaii football and Colt Brennan.
Hawaii fans know their football and are fierce fans. I tried to make hay of the fact that the Terps were in the running for an ACC Division title that year, but I got the Rick Kane coming to the North Shore treatment--"he's os haole he doesn't know he's haole." I guess the Hawaiians only revere the honu (sea turtle). The wee little diamondbacks just don't meet mythological muster.
Anyway, rest assured Hawaii fans. Colt, while he has shown the expected rookie foibles, has had a good camp. We'll see how he does Colt fares against the Colt's (nifty huh) schlubs on Sunday.
