Why would thousands stand in line for hours? To see George Clooney?
If you’re a follower of my Confessions of a Blonde Writer blog, then you’ll know that I stood in line for hours in January trying to get in as an extra in the upcoming George Clooney movie “Up in the Air” that’s filming here in St. Louis. Guess what? I got “the call”!
I’m going to portray a business woman going on a conference trip. Sounds exciting, huh? Well, you’ve got to start somewhere. And who knows? I might even bump into George himself…Ah! I can dream can’t I? Either way, it’ll give me something to write about in future blogs. Hopefully it will be an “in” to the next call for extras for films that shoots in the area, too.
St. Louis has got to make itself look good to film production companies. They can bring in a lot of money and publicity. Our buildings (and disused airport terminals) could be our greatest assets. Let’s keep up the good work and put ourselves out there.
George, can you put in a good word for us in Hollyweird?
