This Saturday at noon at the Center on Halsted Equality Illinos will host a Community Forum on Marriage Equality.

The forum will host a special message from Cleve Jones who was historical advisor to the film 'Milk' starring Sean Penn.  Mr. Jones was also recently a guest on a Feast of Fools episode listen to his insightful conversation with Marc and Fausto and get more information about the life and times of Harvey Milk.

The Protest on Prop 8 is continuing with this special forum by Equality Illinois.   Discussion points will include information about Doug Manchester, owner of the second largest Hyatt hotel in the US, the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego who gave $125,000 towards the support of Prop 8 and was one of the inital backers of the initiative that got it included on the ballot.    Mr. Manchester, the owner of the Manchester Grand Hotel actually sits on land owned by the Port of San Diego and is operated by the Hyatt Corporation.  This very popular local hotel has been used by many LGBT groups including GLAAD who learned of Manchesters contribution after they had scheduled an event at the venue.  Based on this information the local LGBT community called for a boycott of the Manchester Grand and it was backed by the local Union.  As well they are calling on the Hyatt Corporation to repudiate Manchesters contribution to Prop 8.
