My first reaction to the news that Kosta Perovic is heading to Spain: Man, the Warriors have sure had a ton of luck with this kind of stuff.
First Adonal Foyle, then Sarunas Jasikevicius and now Perovic.
Perovic, whom the Warriors drafted in the second round in 2006, has agreed to play for Pamesa Valencia in Spain. Now, all the Warriors have to do is let him out of his NBA contract.
Which they’ll do willingly.

Perovic was guaranteed $1.6 million in 2008-09, even though it was highly unlikely he was going to play any pertinent role with the team. He spent 2007-08 back and forth between the Bay Area and Bakersfield of the D-League.
By my count, the Warriors have saved upwards of $10 million in a little over a year because of this piece of good fortune and a pair of buyouts last summer.
And make no mistake, those deductions have greatly helped the Warriors stay under the luxury tax.
Foyle, who languished on the bench during the Warriors’ playoff season, was owed approximately $20 million over the last two years of his contract. But he was bought out for approximately $13 million. Foyle eventually signed with the Orlando Magic.

Jasikevicius was owed $4 million heading into the 2007-08 season _ the final year of his deal _ and the Warriors bought him out for roughly $1 million. Jasikevicius then signed a nice contract overseas.
And now Perovic, who will sign a three-year deal with Pamesa Valencia.
By the way, speaking of multiyear contracts, Perovic’s guaranteed two-year, $3.2 million deal has to be the best contract ever given to a 38th pick.
Doesn't matter anymore, though.
The Warriors are out from under it. Again.
