A few quick Warriors items.
♦ It’s been two weeks since Monta Ellis’ injury and it seems like the only thing we can rule out in terms of how it happened is: basketball.
How much longer before you see this blog poll?
How did Ellis injure his left ankle:
A. Riding a motorcycle
B. Water skiing
C. Washing his truck
D. None of the above
Who knows how Ellis did it. But one way or another, the whole thing's gotta end soon.

♦ ♦ Quick note to those who suggest the Warriors should void Ellis’ contract if he is found to have sustained the injury doing something he shouldn’t have been doing:
First, it would send an awful message to players around the NBA about how loyal (disloyal) the Warriors are to their players. That kind of word gets around and would have ramifications.
Besides, you can’t just throw Monta out the door after you’ve been reaching out and lending a helping hand to Stephen Jackson for the past 18 months.
Also, if you void the contract, Ellis is gone, you know that, right? There’s no way a kid with that kind of pride is going to come back to the team that took his money away, and then re-sign for less in the process.
Every Warriors fan knows about Ellis, where he came from and some of the challenges and pressures he deals with away from the court. Maybe he did make a mistake.
God forbid the injury is career-threatening. If it isn’t, fine the kid and move on.

♦ ♦ ♦ I’ve seen the Warriors linked to the Indiana Pacers in a deal involving Jamaal Tinsley, Al Harrington, among others.
Not out of the realm of possibility.
But don’t count out Warriors interest in Marquis Daniels, just the kind of lovable swingman Don Nelson has an affinity for. This isn't the first time the Warriors have sniffed around there.
Nelson's more than comfortable with Daniels, whom he coached for two seasons in Dallas.
