Warriors coach Don Nelson listened to the question, paused briefly, then answered: "Yes."
The question: "Did you expect more from Marcus Williams?"
Nelson said after Monday's practice that Tuesday's exhibition game against Lietuvos Rytas was a "dress rehearsal," and that DeMarcus Nelson would start at point guard.
C.J. Watson appears to be Nelson's backup with Williams lingering in third.
"Yes, I expected more," Nelson reiterated about Williams. "And we haven't seen it yet. And It's getting late."
And that was said AFTER Williams' best practice of the season on Monday, according to the coach.
Nelson was nonspecific when talking about how Williams is coming up wanting. But the general notion is that he is having difficulty adjusting to the Warriors' fast-paced style of play.
And Williams' defense also has been a liability, which just happens to be DeMarcus Nelson's strength.
