Well it's summer time. I like summer because I like the ocean, fishing, the water and having fun with my sons. For mothers sometimes it can be challenging to find something to do with the children after having worked all week. I like to check local events through the Virginian Pilot online, so today I was doing some checking and found several free events at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach.
These trips to the State Park can be very educational and fun. First Landing State Park is on Cape Henry so I don't know if you will need base stickers to get in or not. The phone number is 757-412-2300.
Some of the events listed below include:
Swamp Stomp, Pirate Treasure Hunt
Seaside Creation, and Night Hike
They also have cabin rentals and camping sites. The second link below has details regarding the park. Other activities include boating, hiking, camping, biking, swimming and crabbing. Also don't forget Ocean Breeze the water park at the beach, the Virginia Marine Science Musuem and Nauticus.
Remember that all work and no play makes Jane a dull girl.
