G20 Meeting will forge concepts against U.S. sovereignty
Protesters fill the streets of London’s financial district yet are kept miles away from the events attended by Pres. Obama. Kept at a distance as well are the discussions that could spell an end to the future strength of a sovereign United States. Many of the economic proposals are unifying on a world stage just as treaties are sold with the idea of unifying world efforts to combat climate changes and more.
We cannot deny the facts there are economic challenges crashing upon the shores of countries around the globe. The answers proposed will often encompass a theme of uniting together in an effort to improve all since we are one global community. This will sound good to the ear of many, including our current administration. However, are we to better as a unified globe under the oversight of the United Nations or as an independent United States interacting with all while resisting the move to subjugate ourselves to any?
Central in the discussions are the roles of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. Too many in attendance do not appreciate capitalism or free market economics. Should we bow to their leadership? In doing so our future generations will encounter rules and regulations we cannot even imagine today. As with any governing decisions throughout history the further they are from the people the less in tune they are to personal needs. Also, the further removed the easier for tyranny to replace freedom. We have seen this in our brief history.
We began as a nation of unified states, independent and sovereign while united in the causes affecting each. Monetary measurements, commerce, foreign trade, and war were the main areas of federal need. Anything beyond that was to be handled within each state and at the lowest level within the states as possible. Today we have drifted far from this idea of freedom in our personal lives while responsibility for our lives was paramount. Do you feel your government today is leaving you and your state to care for the day-to-day concerns of citizens?
We don’t know any details yet resulting from the many meetings taking place among the world’s leaders. What we do know is unless they agree each nation must be free to maintain their sovereignty too much economic melding of affairs will lead us to a world of large, distant bureaucracy. History teaches us our children’s children will feel the impact of unified cooperation in ways we cannot imagine. We must keep a carefully focused eye to the words spoken by these leaders and be wary of their good will for individuals. U.S. sovereignty is a price too large to pay for world economic unification.
