...and a lot of my commentary to go along with the links provided.

First, from the DC Gaming Lifestyle Examiner Erick Gonzalez, we have some leaked footage of God of War 3.

http://www.examiner.com/x-5128-DC-Gaming-Lifestyle-Examiner~y2009m3d26-Leaked-God-of-War-3-gameplay

Boy that looked violent! That player character sure was angry about something...

Then, another article from Mr. Gonzalez about how Apple is supposedly 'sacking' Nintendo by convincing EA Mobile to port Madden NFL to the iPhone & iPod Touch.

http://www.examiner.com/x-5128-DC-Gaming-Lifestyle-Examiner~y2009m3d25-iPhone-sacks-Nintendo-as-EA-Mobile-reveals-2009-iPhone-game-lineup

Even Forbes is jumping on this iPhone bandwagon!

I don't know why everyone insists on drinking Apple's Kool-Aid. The DS has far batter market penetration, more control options and (with the DSi) you can download cheap games with it too. So, what advantage does the iPhone and iPod Touch supposedly have? I think I'll stick to using my iPod Touch for music. Also, I think it's worth noting that EA will port their games to any console in the known universe. Heck, they made games for the last cell phone that wanted to be a games console.

Another game article from Forbes about Nintendo 'struggling' to stay on top against emerging competition.

http://www.forbes.com/2009/03/25/nintendo-game-consoles-technology-enterprise-tech-nintendo.html?partner=alerts

Somehow, I doubt Nintendo is worried about OnLive or that piece of vaporware called Zeebo. As long as they have Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, F-Zero, Punch-Out!!, Metroid, Pokemon and whatever else Mr. Miyamoto creates, they'll be fine.

Next, one more Forbes article obviously written by a noob talking about why the Zeebo console makes sense...

http://www.forbes.com/2009/03/23/qualcomm-zeebo-videogames-technology-internet-infrastructure-zeebo.html?partner=alerts

There are 2 quotes from this article that just reach out and grab you.

"The original Playstation 2 has an installed base of between 140 and 150 million units. Qualcomm will do several orders of magnitude of that in chipsets alone in a single year," says Mike Yuen, senior director of games and services at Qualcomm.

Yeah, right... This guy is obviously smoking the good stuff. A console based on cell phone technology is going to outsell one of the best selling systems of all time? Yeah, right...

Gaming bloggers are skeptical about whether consumers will buy the Zeebo console. "One positive note is that after it dies a quick death--let's be honest, it's up against Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo--is that it'll be a cool thing to buy from eBay," Faisal Alani wrote in ComputerWeekly.com Monday.

Faisal is reading my mind here, except that part about buying this stuff from eBay. That's just too much of a waste of money, even in a good economy.

Yet another Forbes article, this time about the winner of the developer's contest at the GDC this year.

http://www.forbes.com/2009/03/25/sex-videogames-developers-technology-personal-tech-sex.html?partner=alerts

It was a game about a girl trying to lose her virginity. No, this wasn't from Japan. Two American women named Heather Kelley and Erin Robinson made this one. I can't tell you how disturbing that was for me to read. Who in their right mind would make this kind of game? Do they not remember that whole 'Hot Coffee' scandal a few years ago? I can see the idiots in Congress getting their shorts in a twist already.

For the final Forbes article, we instead have a top 10 list of 'Budget-friendly' games. Many of them are just used games that you'd pick up from GameStop.

http://www.forbes.com/2009/03/26/videogames-wii-nintendo-technology-personal-tech-videogames_slide_2.html?thisspeed=25000

Who is Forbes writing this stuff for anyway? Clueless parents? They're usually a really good source of information for everything else in the business world. What happened?

GameSpot has a hands-on article about ExciteBots: Trick Racing...

http://www.gamespot.com/wii/driving/excitebotstrickracing/news.html?sid=6206486&tag=nl.e578

...and it doesn't say much that I hadn't already said in my 2 previous articles about the game.

Last but not least, a bit of an editorial piece from the National Video Game Examiner, Quibian Salazar-Moreno entitled "7 reasons why people don't play PC games."

http://www.examiner.com/x-578-Video-Game-Examiner~y2009m3d26-7-reasons-why-I-cant-do-PC-gaming

Calm yourself computer gamers, he's not disparaging you or claiming that PC gaming is going to die. I can't add anything to Mr. Salazar Moreno's op-ed there. He wrapped it all up in about the pithiest way anyone could.
