Scooters to the rescue!

October 9, 8:32 PM
by Cassandra Schoon, Denver Scooter Examiner

Let this guy take you home tonight.
Scooters do a lot of good. Between reducing oil dependence, shrinking carbon footprints and reducing traffic congestion, scooters should already have a pretty good conscience. But now scooters do even more- they keep drunk drivers off the streets by giving partiers a way to get home in their own cars without risking a DUI or an accident. According to the afore-linked story, the Rapid City/Sioux Falls, S.D. area is the newest city to have a scooter taxi service.

In a nutshell, businessman Craig McCarthy (pictured) has a fleet of scooterists who take foldaway bikes to wherever you may be, drive you home in your vehicle with the bike in the trunk, and scoot to their next fare.

Though this concept is not a new one worldwide, it is a novelty in the States. Now what we need is to get a similar business to this California "Scooter Patrol" in Denver. Between the draconian downtown parking rules and our city's partytown reputation, The Queen City is practically begging for someone to run with this business opportunity.
