Not content with the real baseball bat you get in the mail for beating prostitutes in Grand Theft Auto IV? Have I got a deal for you! Massively multiplayer online collectible real-time strategy game SAGA (quite the mouthful) is the center of a new contest in which the grand prize is none other than a ballista.
Yes, I said a freaking ballista. Not entirely sure what a ballista is? Well, step one involves looking at the picture associated with this article, but if that's not enough for you, let's just say that it's like a giant crossbow designed for hurling boulders and huge arrows made out of tree trunks.
This ballista in particular is not true-to-scale for the medieval weapon, but it's still an impressive 3½ feet long and is capable of launching golf balls up to 200 feet.
Want a chance at winning this sucker? Head over to Xfire and download SAGA (it's free), and then launch that game and don't quit playing until March 6th. The goal is to deprive yourself of sleep, food, and human contact in an effort to log at least 20 hours of play time in the game.
Additional prizes include booster packs for the game, t-shirts, and special in-game characters.
I'd also like to politely decline to make any comments regarding whether or not it's a good idea to give someone, anyone, a ballista. I know at least that I personally would be arrested within the week.
