Happy Birthday, Mickey Mouse!
Happy Birthday, Mickey Mouse!

Mickey Mouse is celebrating a birthday! Yep, he's looking pretty good for being 81 years old, and he’s more beloved than ever. Not only is Mickey the leader of the Disney gang, he’s also an icon of American culture that has been around for four generations. Just like the Coca-Cola symbol, Mickey Mouse is a steadfast symbol that represents America.

Mickey Mouse was the ingenious creation of Walt Disney. The lovable mouse made his national debut in “Steamboat Willy” in 1928. The original black and white film can still be viewed at Walt Disney World in the Main Street Theater. The Mouse of the House still reigns as supreme master of ceremonies at all of the Disney Parks.

Mickey Mouse has been beloved by generations of fans, and has seen his share of American tragedies and triumphs. Throughout the pain and joy, Mickey Mouse has remained steadfast in his mission to remain innocent while entertaining children iand adults alike. Grandparents, parents and now their children look to Mickey Mouse as a symbol of all that is good in America. Although he has gone through several makeovers to keep up with the changing times, Mickey Mouse is still the same old mouse to his legions of fans.

Happy birthday, Mickey. Thanks for the memories. Who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me? M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!
