This thing that has evolved into the Interweb Super Information Highway is a miraculous thing. Can you honestly imagine life without it now? Me either. It allows us to learn a myriad of subjects we would otherwise never know about, buy cars, watch stupid people do stupid things on YouTube, look for a place to live, converse with friends, and... yes, buy beer.
Say you're a cerevisaphile living in Mud Lick, Kentucky, and you have a hankerin' for a specific beer. You hop in your truck and rumble down to the local liquor store hoping they actually carry that specific beer you're hankerin' for.
"Hello Mr. Liquor Store Man. Do you have St. Bernardus 12?"
With a blank look the proprietor responds: "Uh, we don't sell dogs here."
And that's when you realize you live in the No-Beer Zone. All is lost, right? Not if you have... THE INTERNET!
Point your mouse to one of these vunderbar websites where most people can clickety click to their heart's content and buy that beer that was so hard to find! Due to the bizzaro Prohibition laws that some of the states in our great nation still cling on to (because liquor is Devil Water!) your selection may vary. Or be non-existent if you're unlucky enough to live in one of the aforementioned backwater states.
A few things to keep in mind:
Always read each website's Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) list. Every site is different, and every site may have different restrictions on where and what they can ship.
Always, always, always shop around. Prices for the same beer can flucuate wildly between sites. Also be sure they're not price gouging you on shipping charges.
Every reputable site has one thing in common: someone over 21 must be at the house to sign for the package when it's delivered. This is alcohol being drop shipped straight to your door... not your monthly supply of Jelly Bellys.
Happy Beer Hunting!
