The buzz around this show in the Charlotte music scene was certainly alive weeks prior to this night coming around. Charlotte's Indie Live Music meet-up had scheduled this night quite some time back for a gathering. The opener for the early show was a talented singer-songwriter named JoAnna Lynne. Joanna hails from Virginia Beach and performs all along the East coast. On this particular night there was a small surprise in store for me - JoAnna was accompanied on percussions by the very talented Chidori.
Between the two of these ladies it was both a writers and photographers dream set! Both JoAnna and Chidori are very approachable people who converse with the people around them with elegance and interest. I enjoyed talking to both - JoAnna is excited about her upcoming travels and gigs in New York while Chidori also has interest in photography.

JoAnna's latest work is an Ep titled "Bad Habits". You can check out her sound and obtain her Ep through her MySpace page. I'd also encourage you to check out Chidori's MySpace page as you'll want to stay abreast of any projects she engages in.

The second set was a performance that had been long anticipated. It's not often that a well known local band has the strength of character to take a risk in front of the home town support base. Known as a fairly hard driving electric rock'n roll band, The Stellas stepped on stage at The Evening Muse to perform an acoustic set. Kind of like being naked in public, these guys not only pulled it off, they did it in most excellent fashion!
Adam matched the strength of his vocals to the muted drive of an acoustic set, while Shaun demonstrated why he's the master by pulling off some amazing pickin' on his acoustic machine! One thing for certain, the nearly full Evening Muse sure appreciated the performance which in my mind should only further enhance the confidence this band carries forward with them into their future. The Stellas are made up of Adam Middleton on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Shaun McFall on lead guitar and supporting vocals, Jacob Worden on drums, and a fellow Air Force vet and bassist Josh Knight.
Special thanks to TripleS booking for bringing this show to us at the Muse! Check The Stellas out on their MySpace page and have a listen to the diverse musical rock sound that is The Stellas.
