Hysterical liberals try to sell their snake oil cures for climate

One thing has become apparent over the last few months as one by one, conservatives have systematically and logically refuted every single argument put forth by liberals concerning 'climate change'--the more the truth is presented the more hysterically entrenched the 'progressives' become in their lies.

Take Ma'am Barbara Boxer, for example, the distinguished 'Senator' from the People's Republik of Kalifornia.

The hyper-liberal Boxer went into nothing less than sheer hysterics over the possibility that the so-called 'cap and trade' energy tax would fail to pass the Senate.  According to McClatchy:

If the Senate doesn't pass a bill to cut global warming, Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer says, there will be dire results: droughts, floods, fires, loss of species, damage to agriculture, worsening air pollution and more.

For those who have been regularly reading this column and paying attention to news sources other than the mainstream media, you know that the concept of 'man-made global warming' has been thoroughly discredited by scores of scientists all over the world, and that growing numbers of citizens and scientists alike are finally expressing a healthy skepticism toward the snake-oil balderdash presented by Leftwing loons such as Al Gore, Henry Waxman, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Ma'am Barbara Boxer.

It takes no rocket scientist to figure out rather quickly that the dramatic shifts in global temperatures in the history of our planet have had little or nothing at all to do with carbon-spouting animal life that roams here and yon.  The end of the last ice age began long before humans roamed the planet, and the multi-thousands of years of the ensuing 'global warming' has occurred without any of the contributing factors the progressives cite as the cause.

The most significant warming that has occurred since the end of the last ice age took place before the human era and certainly before the industrial revolution that marked the beginning of our supposed planet-trashing, climate warming ways.

As we have stated many times before, only a complete and utter imbecile would insist on man-made global warming as absolute scientific fact...unless they do so for ulterior motives.

We know what that motive is, and Leftwing enviro-loon Al Gore said it himself recently.  From Climate Depot:

Former Vice President Al Gore declared that the Congressional climate bill will help bring about “global governance.”

“I bring you good news from the U.S., “Gore said on July 7, 2009 in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by UK Times.

“Just two weeks ago, the House of Representatives passed the Waxman-Markey climate bill,” Gore said, noting it was “very much a step in the right direction.” President Obama has pushed for the passage of the bill in the Senate and attended a G8 summit this week where he agreed to attempt to keep the Earth's temperatures from rising more than 2 degrees C.

Gore touted the Congressional climate bill, claiming it “will dramatically increase the prospects for success” in combating what he sees as the “crisis” of man-made global warming.

“But it is the awareness itself that will drive the change and one of the ways it will drive the change is through global governance and global agreements.” (Editor's Note: Gore makes the “global governance” comment at the 1min. 10 sec. mark in this UK Times video.)

Thus, we see that one of the main cap-and-trade climate change doomsday alarmists admits that the ultimate goal of the 'global warming' movement is NOT scientific or to 'save the planet' but is purely political.  They want a centralized global authority to control our lives.

The issue has always been money and power.  The hysterical Leftwing enviro-loons want to convince the populace that disasters are coming due to 'climate change' so that they can consolidate power over individuals and make tons of money in the process.

Nancy Pelosi, for example, is personally invested in 'green energy sources.'  She stands to make millions from the 'going green, cap-and-trade' movement.  Al Gore has already made nearly 100 million off of it and stands to make perhaps billions if the hysterics cause governments all over the world to buy into the 'green solutions' put forth by none other than the hysterical Leftwing enviro-loons themselves.

Corporations are already set to make billions off of mind-boggling higher taxes on higher energy costs resulting from the 'going green' cap-and-trade movement:

Wissner-Gross of Harvard has a company called C02Stats that enables businesses to monitor and manage the environmental impact of their web sites and then purchase renewable energy certificates based on their sites' monthly carbon footprint.

Netherlands-based Cleanbits lobbies web sites to go green by either by purchasing carbon offsets or switching to green hosting providers, like AISO.net, a solar-powered data center based in California. And, like Google, Yahoo also incorporates renewable power and other efficiency measures in its data centers. (From CNN).

Purchase renewal energy certificates based upon their monthly carbon footprint?  Purchasing carbon offsets?

The last time Americans succumbed to such patent nostrums and snake-oil cures was during the westward expansion on the plains of the Midwest.  Slick-tongues salesmen would scare the living daylights out of unsuspecting patrons, warning them in the most dire terms possible that unless they purchased the liquid 'cure' in the dark bottles, they would probably die or at the very least get terribly sick.

Many citizens died, alright, but not because they didn't buy the snake oil.  It turned out the nostrum remedies were sometimes deadlier than the ailments they were supposed to cure.  At the very least the dark bottles of 'elixir' contained nothing more than alcohol.

I have visions of Gore, Boxer, Waxman, Pelosi, Obama, and company setting up shop on the back of the wagon, calling together a band of citizens in order to bring them under the spell of 'the need to buy their powerful potion' to save the world from the disasters to come.

And if we refuse to buy, they simply pull out all the stops and lay the hard sell on us--either we buy it or we can expect to be swept away by tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts, floods, and other disasters due to the 'global warming' boogey man.

No thanks.
