I’m carrying my home-made flag out in the front lines of the social media terrain today, and trying to take notes for my readers at the same time.
The views are as distracting as a fire engine. Navigating is a cascade of course corrections and "check your email for password" page hops. I take breaks and sit out on the sidelines, watching the adepts zoom along in seemingly seamless communication.
I started out to write about the website www.SocialMedia.biz , which I promise to do next. But in the process, I ended up at the Social Media Camp wiki , realizing I have a date on Tuesday. Social Media Camp San Francisco is happening on the 15th. How could I resist? So I finagled around the wiki experience and managed to add my own session to the list for beginner blogging, “Content – Focused blog writing.” I’ve never used a wiki, so, Learning Curve #4,783. It seems to be a kind of friendly anarchy style thing. I think I know what to do next – show up.
My friend Laurie encouraged me along as I dealt with the stomach flutters of not knowing what I’m doing and uh-oh, there it goes online. Thanks, Laurie. See, if we have the right kind of onground support, we can get our kites way up there in the online realms and fly and not get electrocuted.
Well, it is shocking every time I venture out onto another social media platform. I promise, again, to write something useful for you. After I go for a walk and look at some flowers and trees.
