Sacha Baron Cohen's "Bruno" came in first at the box office this weekend.
This isn't a big shock to me as I found the film to be hilarious. Others thought "Bruno" was "furthering negative stereotypes", while others didn't think he went far enough to show how ridiculous these stereotypes are. I can't imagine what going further would of entailed, but it's an interesting thought.
The other top films are:
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
The Hangover
I Love you Beth Cooper
Up
My Sister's Keeper
Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian
All fine films. BUT, everyone better move aside because "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" moves in on Wednesday and will be casting a spell over the box office that will last for a while.
