Singer Neil Diamond will join the Boston Pops this 4th of July at the festive annual holiday evening concert at the Hatch Shell on Boston's Esplanade.

The Grammy Award winning pop vocalist will entertain Bostonians with some of his classic hits. The Boston Pops Orchestra and conductor Keith Lockhart will also be on hand.

Diamond' hit song "Sweet Caroline" is a favorite among Bostonians and is played at every Red Sox home game. The singer revealed a few years ago that Caroline Kennedy was the inspiration for the song. Diamond has enjoyed many years as both a recording artist and a live concert performer, with record sales across the globe at more than 125 million. He has also garnered fifteen top ten albums and 37 top ten singles,  according to a press release from the concert organizers Boston4 Productions.

Diamond, a classic American pop artist, is well known for such fan favorites as "Cracklin' Rosie", "Song Sung Blue" and "America", among many others. He is also a member of the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and has received a Golden Globe Award along with many Grammy nominations.  In 2009, Diamond was recognized as the MusiCares Person of the Year. His latest release, Home Before Dark reached number One album status and led to a successful worldwide tour, according to information released by Boston 4 productions.
