I could not stay the entire hearing. The lawyers for the store argued about constitutional issues for the first 45 minutes I was there. The store lawyer is being paid a lot of money. I assume it would have cost less to hire a security guard at the beginning of the year. A person I know stayed longer than I did and sent me this email description:
"So apparently they showed the video from inside the store of the murder. They also showed just a few minutes before that, and THERE WERE TWO DRUG DEALS JUST BEFORE IT!! sitting there on camera and Bailey pointed them out. i don't know what they were really talking about with the murder. Anyway Strickland and maybe the store lawyer were arguing that there was no dealing going on inside the place, just outside. but he's the one writing letters to the police for help! and they happen every few minutes, and the police are there testifying, and they've got eight arrests for it! i caught the closing arguments, it sounds like a slam dunk case. but who knows. the commissioner has up to seven days to make a ruling."
The liquor board hearing for Linden Liquors has been rescheduled for September 4th.
