On Thursday night during the New Mexico vs BYU women’s soccer game, Elizabeth Lambert made several physical attacks of violence on players of the BYU team. Officials only viewed one of the hits during the game, and carded Lambert for kicking the soccer ball into another player’s face at close range, but some of the other stunts she pulled are far worse.
People all over the country have viewed the video below and were outraged. It was announced Saturday morning that Elizabeth Lambert, the junior defender form New Mexico had been indefinitely suspended. The video has become one of the most popular searches because of how aggressive Lambert is in it.
Lambert made a public apology for her actions, "I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept any punishment felt necessary," she said.
UPDATE: The Rhode Island High School gilrs soccer team got into an all team fight on Sunday night that ended with one student dragging another across the field by her hair. For more on that story, and to see the video of the fight, click here.
