Starbucks to increase their caffeine content in coffee shops
POSTED May 13, 8:37 AM
On Tuesday, Starbucks is going ot start selling  "+Energy" as a  special ingredient in their coffee drinks.  This new powershot is going to be able to be added to any drink Starbucks makes, adding in extra B-vitamins, guarana and ginseng into their Frappucinos and Lattes.  The shot is supposed to be able to be added to both hot and cold drinks, as a group of food scientists and culinary experts worked at creating a taste good enough to compliment the existing Starbucks lineup.  Spokeswoman Bridget Baker said that  "It's a well-thought out and complementary flavor," Baker said, when asked how the boost would taste mixed in with coffee."

This is one of three new ideas Starbucks is planning to roll out this summer,  hoping to stave off their falling performance in stores across the nation.  Noticing the recent explosion in energy suppliments, it seems like a sure thing for coffee consumers. "It's a perfect match for active lifestyles," Baker said of the new product line. "It's a way of meeting that demand and addressing that need."

Next month, the stabucks will start selling the prepackaged Starbucks Doubleshot Energy + Coffee  across the universe, as a partnership with Pepsi ensures it will hit everywhere from mom and pop gas stations to niche supermarkets.

For customers' first experience with +Energy on Tuesday, Starbucks is promoting adding it to the Doubleshot on Ice drink, Baker said. The flavors complement each other, she said.
