Caffeinated Tequila turns out to be a wonderful idea

Tequila is one of those drinks which seems to associate itself most with being at a wild party - or in my case, and angry energetic drunk party. Not crazy violent, but nothing puts me in a more scrappy mood than a nice full glass of Tequila, a dash of lime and a handful of salt. That was why I was not so sure about taking on a Caffeinated tequila, as the extra energy might not necessarily fuel me in the right direction, leaving me with more than an urge to get into a bar fight, but actually get going enough to get to a bar to have it.
Fortunately, I ended up enjoying the whole bottle one evening with friends, slurping margaritas and relaxing on the patio. The drink kept me awake and happy for hours, providing me with the same nice buzz I received from the V2 Vodka. While this is not 100% agave Patron or anything, I found the tequila very easy to mix into a whole host of drinks without any taste difference.

Taste:3 by itself, 9 as a mixer
We did a quick comparison between this drink and some Casa Noble 100% Agave. By itself, the tequila is not good. It has such a strong flavor of caffeine and taurine that the T2 tequila is really sour and just plain wrong. Even lime and salt could not help that much. It mixed drinks however, there was very little difference we all could tell between the Casa Noble Margaritas and the T2 Margaritas. The same held true for the Tequila Sunrise and virtually any other mixer we tried. So I would not try this by itself, but as a mixer it is just perfect.

Buzz :8
My guess is since this is by the folks who make V2, there is about 50mg in a shot of this stuff, and it still has 40 proof. A couple drinks of this is definitely all you need to have a good time. While they don't mention this specifically, they state that an ounce is half a cup of coffee, which is 50mg in energy-drink-speak. If you find a generous bartender, most shots are around 2 ounces - so your normal 2 shot mixed drink gives you about 200mg, or 2 cups of coffee ( or 2.5 Red Bulls). Either way, it does a great job of keeping you alert and able to keep going after a couple drinks, as opposed to putting you down for the night

Packaging: 8
This is another great package by in the same theme as V2 Vodka, only this time with a big old T instead.. While they could have done a bit more putting the amount of caffeine or taurine used, the embossed frosted dragon across the lettering is very simple and stunning. The only thing there is for a company list is a website address, which is OK.

Website:2
This needs something more. I appreciate that this line is a one-off from v2vodka, which has a whole lot more to it, this is just a sub page with a paragraph on how the tequila was made and a cool picture of the bottle. I know this drink is not supposed to be a stand alone, but connected to V2, but for the average consumer, they would have no idea what this website was - and with no links to either V2 or Wingard, this site lacks any real info - and is just a pretty picture. Just a link to the company which would take them to the company site on V2 would be a good start. Until this brand name becomes a household name and people know what to do, this site really needs a lot more to it.
