The Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland offers free viewing with their telescopes on Friday and Saturday nights from 7:30 to 10:30 (weather permitting). With a spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay Area, the center has a planetarium and runs ongoing special shows and exhibits. Check the events calendar for details. The center even has special equipment to make the telescopes wheelchair accessible.
