Ernest Adams, author of From Ghetto to Ghetto: An African American Journey to Judaism, in conversation with Louis Ferrante, author of Unlocked: The Life and Crimes of a Mafia Insider. Moderated by Sandee Brawarsky, book critic for The Jewish Week.
Ernest Adams grew up in a basement apartment in Harlem, spending summers on his grandfather’s North Carolina farm during the Jim Crow era and coming of age during the Black Power era. While at law school, a friendship with a rabbi’s son prompted his journey to Judaism. He currently works as an executive coach and psychologist. Louis Ferrante is a former Ma?a insider who spent nine years in federal and state prisons. There, he educated himself and became increasingly drawn to Judaism. After successfully appealing his own case, he was granted a release and is now a full-time writer. His ?rst book, Unlocked, is to be made into a ?lm for Lorraine Bracco.

Brooklyn Sephardi Hip-hop producer Diwon joins forces with rock guitarist Dugans to performThe Static: The duo of Diwon and Dugans have tapped into the cinematic space of sonic dreams. The songs sound like Soundtracks to films yet unmade or perhaps lost and forgotten. The walls of sound that flow throughout the "dreams of static" sessions are the balance of Diwon, the hip hop producer from Brooklyn and Dugans, the guitar slinging rocker from Austin.
