Attorney General Eric Holder said we were a nation of cowards if we shied away from race issues, so let's tackle this one.

Besides denigrating Republicans in general and Rush Limbaugh in particular, "comedienne" Janeane Garofalo said the following...

JANEANE GAROFALO: She dated him (CNN anchor Daryn Kagan and Rush Limbaugh), so either she suffers from Stockholm Syndrome – a lot like Michael Steele, who’s the black guy in the Republican party who suffers from Stockholm Syndrome, which means you try and curry favor with the oppressor.

KEITH OLBERMANN: Yes, you talk about self-loathing.

GAROFALO: Yeah, and there’s, any female or person of color in the Republican party is struggling with Stockholm Syndrome.

Check out the clip for yourself...

First of all, Ms. Garofalo spends a substantial amount of time attacking Rush Limbaugh, which is understandable given her viewpoint. However, her criticisms are personal and she spends little time on substance, which is also understandable.

She should be careful, however, of making fun of Limbaugh's dating status as we've seen few tabloid stories of men (or women) knocking down the door to get to her.

I also wonder why liberal intellectuals like Garofalo and Amy Goodman insist of mispronouncing his name? How many times have we seen liberals making fun of how hayseed hicks talk, yet they almost proudly mispronounce the names of people they mock?

Lastly, her comments on Michael Steele.

As I've written time and time again, Janeane Garofalo is one of many liberals who consider blacks incapable of independent thought. For her to assert that Chairman Steele suffers from Stockholm Syndrome indicates she truly believes that and woman or person of color who dares not be a Democrat has some kind of psychological affliction.

It's a good thing I'm not Al Sharpton as I'd be taking that in a way she wouldn't like.

So, despite her obnoxious tone, Garofalo isn't a racist. From her liberal superiority perch, she looks down on anyone not thinking like herself, which basically makes her the very person she accuses Republicans of being: intolerant, judgmental, and narcissistic (which, to her credit, she admits).
