Dean Garriss and the crew of LibertyTUBE TV have produced a wide-ranging, informative and exhaustively-researched segment on the Second Amendment entitled “Gun Controlled,” featuring interviews and clips from a variety of notables including (immodestly speaking) this author, Paul Valone. (Yeah, I know: I’m not so “notable.”)
LibertyTUBE’s slick and engaging productions cover topics such as “Debt as Slavery,” “Education by Force,” and “Checks and Balances.” Far from the usual dogma, the libertarian-leaning episodes entertain with proprietary soundtracks which are, by turns, upbeat and pensive.
Unlike typical populist videos, LibertyTUBE covers issues in historical perspective, backed by salient (and sometimes surprising) quotes, historical film clips, and demonstrative case histories. In “Gun Controlled,” for example, Dean and crew run the most comprehensive list of anti-depressant-related violence that I have ever seen – and I’ve seen more than a few.
Partially taped at Grass Roots North Carolina’s table at a recent Raleigh gun show, the segment features GRNC volunteers engaged in distributing legislative alerts against mandatory gun storage legislation. One part of the segment presages the recent Pinelake Health and Rehab shootings as Valone discusses how the vast majority of mass homicides have taken place in allegedly “gun free” zones where concealed handgun permit-holders are forbidden from protecting themselves and others.
Other topics covered include Rahm Emanuel’s proposals to disarm anyone arbitrarily placed on the terrorist watch list; the failure of gun control in Britain; and conservatives’ views of the Constitution, from the mouth of Ronald Reagan in the early 1960s.
Oh, yes: Did I forget to mention all the guns? My favorite segment: “Shootout in Mungerville,” adorned by a Sergio Leone “Spaghetti Western” soundtrack.
