From the same Chicago political machine that brought you Barack Obama comes a fight over the future of your right to keep and bear arms. Tonight, prominent, anti-gun talk host Milt Rosenburg of WGN radio will host a debate between Cato Institute Chairman Bob Levy – who masterminded the Supreme Court’s landmark Heller V. D.C. decision – and Dennis Henigan, policy director of Handgun Control, Inc. (aka “The Brady Campaign). The topic will be no less than repeal of the Second Amendment.

SAYS THE STATION:

“Does the second amendment [sic] guarantee the right of citizens to bear arms? Or is this merely an outdated right that ought to be revoked or seriously restricted? Tonight, we will debate this divisive issue. Arguing for the continued pertinence of the second amendment [sic] will be Bob Levy, Chairman of the Cato Institute. The other side of the issue will be argued by Dennis Henigan of the Brady Campaign.”

Note that, as with other anti-gun organizations, to Rosenburg and his cohorts, the Second Amendment – and perhaps the rest of the Bill of Rights – is no longer worthy of being capitalized. To give you an idea of who is debating, Levy engineered and bankrolled the Heller lawsuit which led to the U.S. Supreme Court affirming the individual rights interpretation of the Second Amendment. Dennis Henigan has been lead counsel for Handgun Control, including coordinating various city’s lawsuits against gun manufacturers.

WHAT YOU MUST DO TO DEFEND YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS

From alerts by the Illinois State Rifle Association and secondamendmentmarch.com

1. Mark your calendar to listen to WGN Radio, AM 720, on Thursday, March 26, 2009 beginning at 9 PM. If you cannot receive WGN in your area, you can listen to the program live on the Internet at www.wgnradio.com

2. No matter where you live, please be sure to call the radio station's call in line at (312) 591-7200 and ask to speak your opinion on what has been said. It would be best if you voice support for the 2nd Amendment and Mr. Levy's statements rather than personally attacking whoever the anti gunner is.

3. Please pass this alert on to all your gun-owning, freedom-loving friends, your gun club, and anyone else you know who would be interested in calling in to the radio show to defend our Constitution.

4. Please post this alert to any and all Internet bulletin boards or blogs to which you subscribe.

It is important that you call the radio station and continue to call until you get through to speak. The more pro-gun callers we get, the better. Don't let the anti gunners use this forum as a vehicle for trampling on our Constitution!
