Producer RedOne is proving to be a big non-Idol associated winner after Season 8’s dramatic conclusion.
The Moroccan-Swedish producer/songwriter, born Nadir Khayat, is best known for his recent work with Lady Gaga on her smash hits “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” He has also worked extensively with Akon, as well as Wyclef Jean, Sean Kingston, and Enrique Iglesias to name a few.
Now RedOne is adding Adam Lambert to the list of artists that he’s recently been working with. An interviewer with the LA Times spoke to RedOne about his vision for Adam.
“I want to go rock — David Bowie and Queen, but make it more easy for people to get,” the producer said of his vision for Lambert. “It has to be rock, but with an interesting dance angle to it, you know? You’ll like it.”
The producer also commented on Lambert himself.
“You know what I like about him? He’s fresh,” said RedOne. “You can go almost whatever direction with him. People know him from being on ‘American Idol,’ singing other people’s songs, but you can take him in a new direction, and this will be the first time you hear Adam Lambert with his signature. My goal is to get his signature out from him to the world.”
All in all, this team up should prove to be interesting. Even if you’re not a fan of Gaga’s upbeat dance tracks, it can’t be denied that both songs have been a staple on the radio of late. It will be fascinating to see what happens when a highly successful established music producer/songwriter teams up with someone who already brings such a large and enthusiastic fan base to the table.
