Don Imus on Al Sharpton's radio show (April 2007)

Controversial radio personality Don Imus announced on his radio show this morning that he has been diagnosed with Stage II prostate cancer. And according to the cantankerous optimist, it's all good. He said:

The prognosis couldn't be better. I have great confidence in my doctors. I'll be fine. If I'm not fine, then I won't be fine. And it's not a big deal."

And he's probably right. The American Cancer Society reports:

More than 2 million men in the United States who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point are still alive today. ... About 1 man in 6 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime, but only 1 man in 35 will die of it."

Sounds like pretty good odds.
