We all remember the woman who watched Meg Ryan fake an orgasm at a restaurant in "When Harry Met Sally" and then quickly told the waiter:
I'll have what she's having."
That was Estelle Reiner, mother of the film's director, Rob Reiner — and wife of director Carl Reiner.
Estelle died at home in Beverly Hills on Saturday. The actress, painter and singer was 94.
She was one of the 15 Beverly Hills moms who organized Another Mother For Peace in the 1960s. Estelle helped design their famous poster with the logo that is still popular among peace activists today:
War is not healthy for children and other living things.
She didn't start her career as a jazz singer until she was 65 years old. During the following 28 years, she recorded seven albums and performed live in New York and Los Angeles jazz clubs.
What a gal. She'll be sorely missed.
